THE P TEAM SECOND XI

1. Ian Pearson - Larger than life all rounder who debuted in 1977. Took 4-12 against Southampton University and has a top score of 134 against Bournemouth. Once kept wicket for the First XI against Old Tauntonians, apparently conceding less byes than his opposite number, Hampshire's Bob Stephenson. Claims his off-the-field exploits were more noteworthy than his on-the-field activities. Now living in Australia, although we don't think the two things are connected.

2Neil Perrett - Opening batsman, another of the 'Whitehouse Wonders' colts team of the 1980s. Scored a century for the Sunday Second XI at Brockenhurst in 1984. Captained the Midweek side to the cup in 1993 and also skippered 'Perrett's Posers' to second place in club's first six-a-side tournament in 1992. Now a highly regarded journalist working for AFC Bournemouth.

3. Darren Price - Tremendous timer of the ball, particularly through the covers. Scored centuries against Whitchurch and Exbury in August 1991. Winner of Lymo's first inter-club golf tournament at Barton in 1988.

4. Dave Paramore - Sturdy bearded all rounder who joined the club in the late Sixties. Highest score of 86 not out versus Wimblington in 1968. A year later he scored 423 runs and took 57 wickets including 6-29 against Southampton CC. In 1970 he notched up 873 runs and was a member of Lymo's Sydney Wyatt Cup winning team.

5. Trevor Phillips - Joined Lymo in 1993 as a batsman and occasional bowler. Before the season was out had been transformed into a bowler and occasional batsman. Lymington Cricket Club can do that to you.

6. Adrian Poole - Batsman, captained Lymington CC's Juniors in 1964. Top score of 80 not out and also registered a half century against Brockenhurst in 1973. Club secretary for a short time, went on to be a SPCL umpire and treasurer.

7. Will Palmer (w/k) - Promising young wicketkeeper and batsman who has done well for the Fourth XI, claiming 20 catches and three stumpings in his 22 senior appearances. Top score of 42 against Parley last season.

8. Ross Pike - Occasional Fourth XI all rounder. Best bowling figures of 6-45 versus Hythe in 2013 and a top score of 36 against Parley last season.

9. Ben Paxton - Member of the junior section who has impressed on his appearances for the Second and Third XIs in the past couple of seasons. Took 2-7 against his old club Bransgore in 2017 and has a highest score of 31 against Suttoners last season. Very safe pair of hands.

10. Neil Pardoe - Took 16 wickets for the Fourth XI in 1986 and has a top score of 52 not out in 1990. Played a few Second XI games thereafter before moving on. His son is currently a highly rated bowler with the Hampshire Academy.

11. Dan Paxton - Seam bowler, like his brother above has done well since progressing to the senior sides. Best bowling figures of 3-18 for the Fourth XI against Bashley in 2017. Highest score of 24 against Fawley.

Mentions: Ethan Perry-West, Machael Pardey, George Payso, Fred Pocock

Summary: Pearson and Perrett will provide the entertainment, sadly probably not on the field.
